How to make Vietnamese Style Flan

Yummie Flan

Flan is a good dessert and there are many versions. This Flan recipe is simplicity. If you've never made flan before, now is the time to try this recipe.

Prep Time 20 minutes

Cook Time 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes


• 1 cup sugar • 6 large eggs • 2 and half cup milk Large backing tray and 6 to 8 ceramal cups (see the picture)


Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Pour 1/2 cup sugar and 2 soup spoon of water in warm pan over medium heat. Do not stir sugar; cooked until is light browns; turn off the heat and the heat from cooker will make the sugar caramel. Quickly pour approximately 2-3 tablespoons of caramel in each up, tilting it to swirl the caramel at the bottom of the cup. Reheat caramel if it starts to harden. Pour ½ cup sugar in a mixer or with a whisk, blend the 3 eggs yolk and other 3 egg together. Heating milk to boil, while blending the mix eggs and sugar Pouring the hot milk slowly into the mixed sugar-eggs Using the net filter to remove the custard in the mixed liquid – sugar, eggs and milk; Pouring the mixed custard liquid into the caramel lined ceramal cups. Place these cups in a large glass or ceramic baking dish and fill with about 1-2 inches of hot water. Bake for 45 minutes in the water bath and check with a knife just to the side of the center. If knife comes out clean, it's ready. Remove and let cool. Let each cup cool in refrigerator for 1 hour. Invert each cup onto a small plate, the caramel sauce will flow over the custard. To make it more flavor, you can top it with black coffee when served.

Why is Flan

Flan is easy made and kept. It is rich nutrients and healthy diet for one who like sweet desert, but low fat. Flan is a desert and common use after dinner, however, you can eat Flan whenever you would like to. Give it a tried, you will love it.
