What is Blackboard Vista?

BlackBoard (Bb), formerly WebCT, Vista is the Course Management System (or Virtual Environment for Learning) adopted by the University System of Georgia since 2003. Bb Vista offers us a robust suite of tools to enhance teaching and learning. All GGC faculty use Bb Vista to a greater or lesser degree. Vista's flexibility allows instructors to offer a basic online Syllabus, Schedule, and Grades, or to use Vista to richly supplement the course with Learning Modules, Quizzes, Assignments and Assessments. To whatever degree Vista is used, a well designed Vista course supplement will add value to a GGC course.

Quality in Course Design

Quality of course design can be measured by standards of best practice. The eight broad online course component categories below are used as indicators of course-design quality by both the Bb Exemplary Course Project and the Quality Matters organization. Online here refers to digital content brought together in our Bb Vista Virtual Environment for Learning as a course supplement as well as for a hybrid or totally online course (GGC does not offer totally-online or "Distance Learning" courses at this time.)
