▪Body: adult length of 10 to 14 mm
▪Wings: FW Hardened, nearly always meeting in a straight line down mid-dorsal line of the back, elytra covers HW and abdomen consequently abdominal segmentation is not visible from above, elytra sometimes shorter, not covering entire abdomen;
▪ Pronotum: usually large
▪ Antennae: the antennae is filiform or threadlike
Ecological importance: Predator to other insects and some species eat plants as well.
Economic importance: Can act as pollinators to certain plants.
