It has reopened since then. Other file sharing applications have entered the market since then.
a. Is it legal to use peer-to-peer file sharing applications such as BitTorrent to download music and movies?
Answer: In my opinion, I think it's illegal for the fact that movies & music are being downloaded without giving credit.
b. Is it ethical to use BitTorrent to download music and movies?
Answer: Yes unless you are not downloading the full length of the movie or song since it could be considered piracy.
c. Should companies like BitTorrent be held responsible legally for the illegal distribution of music and movies? Do you think they play a role in this and is there any way they can help curb it?
Answer: If something is being done illegally then there should be consequences. Piracy is against the law, therefore actions should take place if done so. If copyrights are being violated, no help should be provided.
