Distinguishing morphological features of Family:

▪ Body: length 6-8 mm, 4 membranous wings; front wings are larger than back wings, constricted between thorax and abdomen

▪ Head: oval shaped, elongated chewing mandibles

▪ Antennae: long, and less than or equal to 10 segments

Ecological importance: Controls pest population among flowering plants along with reducing the amount of parasites spread.

Economic importance: Can protect crops from being overrun and tarnished from other insects.
